Hi,
56 years, now located in Germany / Munich.

I started my "8-bit" era with Atari 800XL (mostly playing games, a bit BASIC programming), followed by the almighty ZX Spectrum.
Also a bit of gaming and typing BASIC programs with the nice rubber keyboard. And hearing the sounds from the Stereo player when it loaded the stuff from tape. That were the times :)
Unfortunately, I destroyed the one of a friend so I had to give him mine - end of ZX Spectrum.

Some time later I hit against a C64. A bit of gaming, mostly BASIC programming.
In that time (months to years), I mostly developed a Mailbox system (BBS) which was in use by some guys in Berlin, Germany.
After some other issues, all of the equipment had been sold - no computers anymore.

That lasted not too long, the next system was an Atari ST.
Again programming mostly in BASIC (Gfa-Basic this time) and again developing a Mailbox system (BBS).
Due to this I came into contact with my future Boss and so I did move to Munich.
There, the Atari ST had an accident. End of Atari ST era.

Finally arrived on the IBM PC which is on what I am working to this day (mostly clones these days of course).
XT, AT, 386, Pentium and so on.
Also the developing focus shifted from BASIC to C. And the system to OS/2.
And... again: Developing a mailbox system. This time - since it was used by the company I was working for - it was not only a single phone line system but was able to support several phone lines. And it was part of a network in Germany where the mailboxes called each other during the night.

Also this era ended with the Internet and other things, now I am mostly Windows/Linux centered and do not program mailboxes anymore :)

 So what has all of that to do with the Commander X16?

Well, nothing to be honest. It just remembers me of the "good old C64 times", but I don't think I want to create another mailbox these days. Just playing around a bit, mostly in BASIC and C, not too much Assembler.

I am looking forward to the next CX16 generation (with more SMD parts) and hope for the best.

Greetings from Germany.
