What does VERA stand for/mean?

So, I know what the VERA board does, basically, but I am wondering why it is called this. Does VERA stand for something, or is there some other explanation for its etymology, or does it just sound nice and happen to begin with a V like the word video?

The folks who built the Amiga started a trend of naming custom chips with names of people: Agnes, Denise, Gary, etc.
VERA is both an acronym (the initials spell a word) and a nod to this trend on the Amiga.
And this has me considering whether it's possible to come up with a name for the FPGA FM chip... I'm thinking "Fran", but I can't make that in to a good acronym. (Although not everything needs to be an acronym.)

I dunno ... I reckon if they implemented Vera in an ASIC IC, I'd still call it Vera, so it they implement an OPM in an FPGA, I'm likely to keep calling it OPM. If we need a person's name for it, we can call it Opie. (I know the YM2151 is not the only OP FM ... there's the OPL, the OPL2 and OPL3, the OPM, etc. ... but it's the OPM that is in the X16, so whatevs).

I like that. A recursive acronym, like GNU.
