Hello from Cyprus

Hi everyone!
I'm a guy from cold Siberia currently residing and working in hot Cyprus
I've discovered the project from 8-BitGuy YouTube channel.
My retro background is from 90-s when I was a kid and played a lot with DOS Real Mode graphics in BorlandPascal (including the built in assembler and all that fun with direct video memory bank access and 8bpp indexed colors).
Now working as a .Net software developer for more than 14 years (current job is b2b financial software), also have my hobby project in Unity, but from time to time my soul craves for something retro (nes/snes fan actually)
Just downloaded x16emu_win64-r42 from the downloads section and don't know what to do with it
I have no experience with neither Basic nor C64 or Spectrum, so I'd appreciate if someone would give me a link to some step-by-step manual for dummies how to work with the device.
Basic prompt scares me like hell
What I'd like to do:
Develop/compile in C (maybe assembly) using my host PC of course, load and debug on the emulator.
Glad to find this place!
Would appreciate any advices.
