Hello from Columbus, OH

Post by zerocatorder »

I'm an old time electronics tech from the 80's. I trained at Commodore for repairing their computer line. I worked on all kinds of Commodore equipment back then. It's good to see that there are people still going strong with the 8-bit computers. I saw this project and just love all the people that are involved for keeping the 8-bit dream alive.

I just started back into this hobby and spent the last month catching up on all the developments in the last 30 years or so. I'm working on some old c64's I picked up. I'm intrigued by something new to play with and downloaded the emulator. I do not think I'd buy one until it's Phase 2 or 3. I guess it depends on just how expensive a price is set.

I'm hoping to do the machine language tutorial to freshen up my coding skills. I also programmed desktop and web apps in Windows for 20 years so I'm hoping to write something.

Any other Columbus folks around?

I'm living in South Carolina at the moment, where I teach, but I was born in Columbus & grew up in Licking County.

I'm in the "waiting on Phase 2, so cheering for Phase 1 to be a success" crowd ... with 12 grandkids, my hobby budget often takes a backseat to my birthdays and Christmas budget!
