Integrated C environment on the X16

Post by neutrino »

It would be really neat if the builtin editor could be used such that it's possible to write a C program there and then have it compiled (cc65?) and run directly without the assistance of any external computer?

Ie self hosted.

This is already a thing... while I don't know that the integrated editor is actually integrated,  but there is a c compiler that runs on the Commander... it should be here in the file section.

The C compiler is here, but I'm not sure it works in R42 of the X16 ROM. It says it's updated to R41.
