Audacity is a VERY versatile program. There's no need to extract the Audio from a Youtube rip first... Audacity can just directly open the Video file, it will do the sound track extraction all by itself.3. installed audacity and used it to clip the audio, then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq3xjaQkAPg to figure out how to output it properly to mono WAV

Also Stereo WAV's will also work, however you do need to lower the sample rate to 32000 hz or lower (22050 usually sounds fine).
