You can also buy just the keycaps. I got a set of these and use them with a $50 mechanical keyboard:

As to rolling your own: I bought a Brother label maker that connects directly to my PC and acts like a USB printer. It comes with a designer program, which lets you design graphical labels. With a set of blank keycaps and some transparent label tape. you can make up whatever keyboard layout works for you.

As to templates, here's a little project that I forked from its creator, in an effort to make a set of C128 keycaps. (I ended up not being able to run these, because WASD couldn't read Inkscape's SVG files.)

However, don't try to use that layout exactly as-is: The Commander has a few small differences; the backslash key and the grave/tilde key (on an ANSI keyboard) do slightly different things, as do the minus and equal keys. Also, note the 40/80, Run/Stop, and Restore keys, which replace the Print Screen, Scroll Lock, and Pause keys.

I bought a few used PS2 keyboards from POS Machines with MX Black keys. 17Eur each.
Currently waiting for the keycaps. WASD charges quite a lot for shipping, though.
Their complete keyboard is 210 Eur + 70 shipping + 54 VAT + 36 Handling Fee ...
