Hi Michael - I'm assuming you're the same "mist" as from our Xbox days.
Thanks for all your work on this, I'm very excited about this project.

Hello everyone!
My name is Michael Steil, and I'm a member of the X16 development team. I am the lead developer of:
the X16 ROM
the (advanced) KERNAL operating system
our version of the Microsoft/Commodore BASIC interpreter
our MONITOR
the DOS for the SD card
the GEOS port
the X16 character sets
the X16 Emulator
the X16 Reference Documentation
I'm thankful for any help on these projects, all of which are Open Source projects on GitHub:

Technical discussions on these projects should happen in the form of "Issues" on GitHub, but I'm happy to discuss more generic topic here in this forum!

Michael, I would like to give you a huge thanks for ROM development, it definitely feels like a true Commodore 64 successor. The emulator is really good as well!

Thank you for all your hard work. I can't imagine where I'd be if I didn't have this emulator to play with.
My first introduction to 6502 assembly coding was through this emulator and it's been so much fun. I began my professional career decades ago as a QA tester, so naturally I wrote unit tests for each and every opcode to make sure the emulator was behaving according to documentation. There were only a couple opcodes where it deviated, and sure enough the root cause was a mistake was in my unit test. This is really top-quality software and an amazing achievement, and I've learned so much from writing those tests and generally monkeying around.
Three cheers for Michael!

You're a little late to be 'welcoming' Michael. He posted his intro back in 2020.
(Also, he got burned out on the project and is no longer active in the X16 community. We wouldn't be where we are now, without his early efforts, but he has now moved on to other endeavors. There's been no rancor, he just faded away.)

Whew! That's a relief. Those Rancor's are mean suckers.
