I'm Matt and I'm helping out with the boring tech stuff behind the scenes on here. My journey began with a VIC-20 in the early 80s, followed by a C64 and an Amiga 500 before being dragged kicking and screaming into the PC era in the mid 90s. And basically, it's all downhill from there, which is why when I saw David's video on his dream computer, I simply sat there with an open mouth, nodding along vigorously.

Other than that, I'm the writer and producer of the Blue Skies Chronicles® series of novels and audiobooks. Give them a listen, people seem to like them.

Hi Matt and thank you for all your hard work on the website. I think it's absolutely brilliant and definitely better than Commodore's website in 1982!

It appears that commodore.com was first registered in 1997, after the original Commodore International went out of business in 1994, which was just before most corporations (outside of IP backbone providers and military R&D contractors) started getting their own domains.

Oh yeah, Commodore is just an interesting case of a computer company that died just before the internet revolution happened.

Here we go, it looks like commodore.com was never used by one of the trademark holders that picked over the corpse of CI/CBM in the 1990s. In 2000, it was finally used by an unrelated company dealing with nuclear waste, of all things!

Yeah, it's one of these jokes that turns into a legitimate discussion on computer history, it's pretty fun.

But yeah, kinda weird to think had Commodore stayed a year or two longer they probably would had snagged Commodore.com for themselves.

Ha true. Here's a true story: A couple of years ago I asked the current "Commodore" who seemed to be doing not much with the brand, if it was for sale. They said no, but that they could offer me stock options starting at $18,000,000.

I said I'd think about it...

So....would you classify these as Science Fiction, or something else? From the description, it appears to be SciFi.

I may need to add them to my collection to read after I get a new pair of bifocals (getting old in the age of COVID-19 is annoying).
