According to Wikipedia this program was written by Gregory Yob in 1973. It was published in Creative Computing as a BASIC game. The algorithm used here is based on the BASIC program 'Wumpus 1'. Published in the book 'More BASIC Computer Games' edited by David H. Ahl and published by Workman Publishing, New York in 1979.
I remember having this book many long years ago, typing the BASIC program into my OSI C1P and having fun with it.
For this version, the BASIC program was translated into Prog8. Once the text adventure game was up and running properly. It was time to 'VERAfy' it with a graphic of the dodecahedron and sound effects for the characters in the game.
Here is screen shot of the game.
There are instructions in the game at the start of each session.
Hook up some speakers for the sound effects, great fun.
