This section is for testing Commander X16 programs and programs related to the CX16 for other platforms (compilers, data conversion tools, etc.)

Feel free to post works in progress, test builds, prototypes, and tech demos.

Finished works go in the Downloads category. Don't forget to add a hashtag (#) and the version number your program was meant to run on. (ie: #R41).

Also... I took some College courses late in life. After already being pretty experienced
I took an entry level course in C++ just for the credit. I prototyped every single
assignment in Pascal before translating to the appropriate program to turn in. :)

Posted in Demoscene... Going to get it working in Prog8 next. May take a few weeks. I need to learn
the language while I port the program.

A Pascal programmer? The problem is that, while Niklaus Wirth may be called by name in Switzerland, he is called by value everywhere else. Is the P-code that the Blitz compiler uses the same UCSD Pascal p-code? Or, maybe that was how the original worked?

I am always amazed every time I come across a project and learn that it's written in Delphi.

I never used UCSD pascal. I used Borland Turbo Pascal and then fpc. Both are true compilers

Nicklaus Worth created the language.

Borland made it a real option for PC Development.

*Wirth.

There's a famous quote of his, about calling by name or calling by value... Europeans call him 'nee-clowse vert' which is by name but Americans call him 'nickel's worth' which is by value.

Taking an entry-level course in C++ sounds like a great way to expand your knowledge, especially if you already have experience in programming.
I totally get where you're coming from with prototyping assignments in Pascal before translating them. Sometimes, it helps to familiarize ourselves with different programming languages and find the best approach for each task.
I had a similar experience when I encountered a few minor bugs while working on a project. It can be frustrating at first, but with some troubleshooting and perseverance, things usually work out just fine. If you're looking for helpful tips or additional resources, you might want to check out the Cheap Windows Keys subreddit. They've got some neat tricks up their sleeve that can make your programming journey even smoother.
