Hello, and sorry for my (probably) terrible english,
Greetings from France! I began my journey in computing with a TO7 (a french computer made by thomson) and made simple BASIC programms when i was a kid. I looked at printed listings programs and wondered what was the magic behind these DATA declarations
I also think Microsoft was at its peak - not a very high one - when it published BASIC software for different microcomputers, and only went downhill since.
I am extremely impatient with the commander X16 project! I can't wait to play with it. And I hope the VERA module and the X16 will work in europe (50Hz vs 60Hz in America )
Hello from France!

Re: Hello from France!
Bonjour!
your English is fine. It's interesting to hear other's experience in their early days. As a kid growing up in the 80's, all I heard about foreign (to me) computers were British ones. I was naive that other countries would have companies making computers for their domestic market.
Your post reminds me that CBM BASIC was written by Microsoft, a fact that I forget.
As for compatibility outside of North America, I've got no idea how/if it will work. The power supply is an ATX one, so I assume that an European one would work. The FAQ lists the VERA modes - (https://cx16forum.github.io/faq.html_) without any PAL modes. I assume most people will be using VGA with their X16, some of the more die-hard retro people probably have a CRT based monitor set aside for their system.
There are far more knowledgable people here who might be able to answer that question. I'm sure one of them will speak up.
