General - CX16 Hi from New Zealand

Post by rbarraud »

Roger here, I found out about the X16 thru David's (The 8-bit guy) channel.
Looks really interesting so far.
I would like to build and play with one, hopefully contribute in some way.
I'd like to see a niche industry grow up around this.
I'm a H/W engineer, programmer, *NIX-savvy, RF-knowledgeable, networking more-or-less expert.

Welcome!

Just by being here and eventually buying an X16 you are contributing. There are many moving parts to the project, consider selecting one and helping out on it. Your wide skillset is certainly would be of value.

On that note, have you considered where you could contribute?

Hi fellow subjects! :-)

Wow, at this rate the commonwealth will take over the X16 forum. I'm located in a Victoria - guess which part of the empire.

Wait, would that be the part where the locals like to watch people bouncing footballs against the grass as they run and try to kick it between the middle two of four poles?

A while ago when I lived in Oz, the head of our Department came from a Victoria, and he was a fan of that peculiar football code.

Hey Bruce,

There are some residents who play with funny balls here, but it's not the place you've guessed. Sorry.

Interesting facts - https://geotargit.com/called.php?qcity=Victoria and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_p ... n_Victoria

I'm surprised that there are so many places named Victoria in the new world.

Anyone else hazard a guess?

She was a popular gal.

Just like a lot of American towns were founded where the settlers found a spring in a field. A town needs a water supply!
