Does anyone else miss the ability to add "reactions" to a post?
I'm not entirely sure what phpBB options there are to add reactions to forum posts, but I do miss the ability to add a reaction when I don't want to otherwise post an actual "reply".

There is extention for phpBB to add this feature. We are thinking to extended forum with this feature and some others, but please give it some time.

Yes, but it doesn't prevent me from participating and enjoying the forum.

The thing about extensions and other forum addons is this...
every time we have to upgrade the software, we also have to download and upgrade the extensions. The more extensions we have, the more work an upgrade is as a result. So we will have to carefully pick which extensions we want.
I'm actually surprised phpBB has not already added a reaction feature. We'll have to check out the extensions library and see what we can find.

It took me slightly by surprise as well, but I wonder if the phpBB developers consider it "outside the core pillars of the project", or what-have-you. I respect that feature creep is a real thing, and I'd guess they feel there are other parts of phpBB that are more important when at least one extension exists that seems to provide reactions functionality.
Thanks for looking into it, at least.

Oh, we will add this feature. I like it too much to not have it. We're just not going to get into the business of adding dozens of extensions and spending weeks come upgrade time to upgrade and debug all the extensions.
