Hello from Barcelona

Post by xavi »

Hi everyone!

I'm Xavi, an electronics designer from Barcelona that is developing an interest in the parts of computing that I sadly missed as a kid. I was designing my own 6502 computer when I came across the X16 and thought it might be smarter to check what you were doing first!

I'm still trying to read on everything I've missed around here because I'm quite a late comer to the party, but if I can help, feel free to point me in the right direction. I've built anything from small micro-controller boards to x86/64 (PCB design, firmware,..). My vhdl is a little rusty though ?

In any case thanks for all the work that goes into creating a community like this one!

Welcome Xavi!

There's a lot to read here! The forum software is fairly advanced in terms of features to help you get through it all. It does take a little exploring. Once you're caught-up, the unread content page (https://www.commanderx16.com/forum/index.php?/discover/unread/) which can be reached by the button in the lower right corner is an easy way to stay current. Getting to current might be challenging. Consider focusing on the technical forums first, then venture into the social ones.

The community has created a volume of information and opinion, while maintaining a sense of humour.  My view is that the community has been self-generated with some wise guidance to keep things going. There's been a couple cases where moderation has been needed that I've seen, but for the most part those here are outstanding community members. Welcome to the 8 bit retro party!

It does sound like your skillset will make you a valuable asset here. Just brush up on your VHDL ?

Enjoy!
