Re: replacement for codex as a monitor and assembler
CODEX had several features sliced out of it in order to fit into ROM, and then those features were optional if loaded from SD as plugins. This was very awkward for software that ships on ROM. It was also very inconvenient to write code with, requiring navigation of a menu system just to insert a lin...

Re: Use of Discord/FB a disappointment
I've found discord to be indispensable when it comes to getting help with my X16 related endeavors. Real time chat and voice chat are extremely powerful tools for collaboration, so much that the downsides are far outweighed. I'd love a less walled garden approach, but I'm unaware of anything availab...

Re: Books
Jestin is working on something more like the User's Guides that came with the various Commodore computers back in the day. It just isn't quite ready yet. Hey, me too! Nothing like some healthy competition, eh? Do you have a link to your manual? I'm developing mine in public view here: https://githu...

Re: Will the X16 Developer Edition come with a manual?
I would love a proper bound (preferable spiral) manual, but a order-to-print would be fine, too. Commodore did write some fairly solid manuals to get startet with, iirc. I've been writing a user guide for the past year, and it's starting to come along. I have release builds generated on GitHub afte...

Re: Books
Thanks guys. I'll be looking out for those books especially the one that is written like the old Commodore VIC-20 and 64 user's guides. mlk Just keeping everyone up to date, publicly downloadable releases of the user guide are being published to GitHub on each commit: https://github.com/X16Communit...

Re: Call for X16 "launch title" software - WEEK #1
If you are including my GIMP plugin on the list of "big computer" software, you should also probably include the `tmx2vera` conversion tool: viewtopic.php?t=6456

Re: Is there a working JRPG engine for CX16?Can I be licenced to use it? Would you like to work with me porting a RPG?
I wouldn't say I'm writing my game to be a re-usable game engine...but it probably could be. I've had to make certain decisions about things like how many animated tiles are allowed, how many animated sprites, and other things like that. Once I'm finished, I could probably find a friendly way to pac...
