Re: X16 laptop?
I still really like my Lenovo Ideapad 100e (Gen 1) when it comes to the hardware design and its size, because it has several exceptional features for such a cheap device (paid $260 CAD for it new 4 years ago). What I Like: - Solid plastic chassis that doesn't flex anywhere. Built like a tank! - Roun...

Nice to see the progress. Funny, in that sad kind of way, that David was absolutely slammed with "merch" orders, given how much labor is involved and how little money he actually earns from the effort - it's almost like he's showing his support for buyers rather than the other way around. ...

Anyone know how much the new, cheaper keyboard will be and if it will be sold separately for use with the emulator? A keyboard with all the correct markings would be a great convenience. I considered getting a Keyrah for use in my (still working) VIC20 for use with VICE, but I never got around to g...

How about an 8 Bit Internet Service?
Realistically an all-in-one service like the AOL of the 90s for the entire Commander X16 user base could be hosted from a Raspberry Pi. Loads of we Linux folks could slap that type service together with our eyes closed, especially if it's done with simple php and html pages. And, even if there were...

Congratulations to all involved. Personally, given how utterly insane expenses have gotten for our small family (2 parents, 3 kids 12ish-16ish) over the last year, I just cannot foresee a time where I would be able to afford such a thing as the X16 (or <em>any other toy</em>, really). Heck, I just ...

Sad news: Scott Robison has passed away
That's really awful. I guess none of us will live forever, but still... My condolences to his friends and family.

TTY only graphics, no sound... So close man, so close! The X16 is over-engineered, "too much" really. There's something to be said about a ZX Spectrum with a faster CPU, more RAM, and SD card storage - Would it be amazing? No. Does it need to be? No! If someone made rudimentary graphics and sound f...
